Discover Trieste as a page of a book through the works of its writers and poets. Starting from the Public Garden, admire the busts of literary artists who wrote their works in Trieste. Stroll up to Piazza Ponterosso admiring the statue of James Joyce and a few steps away, the Serbian Orthodox church of San Spiridione, where you will find the symbol of literary Trieste for excellence: the Umberto Saba antiquarian bookshop. Stop at the Greek Orthodox church that James Joyce frequented and continue towards the old city until you reach Piazza Hortis where you will finally meet the statue of Italo Svevo. End your tour at the Audace Pier, the city's walkable pier where land and sea blend together.
